Karim joined b2venture in July 2024 as Operations Analyst and works closely with our operations team to ensure the firm takes full advantage of the latest technologies, processes, and data-driven approaches for our investment teams and investor community.

Born in Ludwigsburg, Karim grew up in Augsburg and studied industrial engineering at the Technische Hochschule Augsburg before receiving a Master of Science from the Technical University of Munich in MS, Management and Technology.

“I have been tinkering with computers since I was in grade school,” says Karim “building my own QR code ordering system and dabbling in crypto.”

Karim focused on automation in FinTech for his bachelor’s and wrote his master’s thesis on LLMs and financial analysis, marrying his interest in software with its practical application in finance.

Karim had dreamed of working for Microsoft since he was young, and worked during his university studies as a cloud solutions architect and later as an operations specialist for the American tech giant before coming to b2venture as an intern.

“To say I have a passion for efficiency is a bit of an understatement,” he admits with a smile, “I can get quite obsessive about all the ways you can put an ‘invisible footprint’ on things - the small innovations that add up to massive improvements in the aggregate.”

“I’m excited to leverage technology to strengthen the relationships with our angel community even further and to help build an ecosystem that empowers innovation at every level.”

The youngest of three, Karim grew up in a household that prized a do-it-yourself approach to life and not achievement for its own sake.

“My father, who is a trained electrician, was always optimizing our house, practically rebuilding it over the course of many years, and I learned early on to take things apart, experiment and try to make them better.”

A second generation German of Palestinian extraction, Karim grew up straddling two worlds, playing football in his village club in Bavaria and training for the Jordanian national team, before an injury cut short his development.

“Cooking has supplanted football as my main hobby,” according to Karim, who loves to go deep into precision cooking techniques such as sous vide and fermentation.

Karim feels honored to work in venture capital and support founders who are building the future of technology. He finds b2venture’s unique dual track approach particularly inspiring, blending direct investments and fund investments with a deeply engaged angel investor community. “I’m excited to leverage technology to strengthen these relationships with our angel community even further,” he says, “and to help build an ecosystem that empowers innovation at every level.”
