Dr. Friederike Hoffmann is Partner at b2venture, strengthening the firm’s Direct Investments activities with deep commercial, operational, and governance experience from large-scale, technology-driven business-to-business organizations.

Before joining b2venture, Friederike held senior leadership roles at Swisscom for more than fifteen years, most recently as Executive Vice President and Head of the B2B telecommunications business. As a member of the Enterprise Board, she led complex commercial, product, and delivery organizations, as well as global partner ecosystems,  including IoT- and 5G-related business activities. Her work focused on scaling enterprise platforms, navigating regulated environments, and leading organizations through long-term transformation.

Alongside her executive responsibilities, Friederike built extensive governance expertise through her roles on the boards of Ivoclar and localsearch (Swisscom Directories AG), contributing to strategic oversight across innovation-driven and market-leading businesses. She holds a PhD from the University of St. Gallen, with a research focus on business model innovation and organizational transformation.

Building on her professional background and the firm’s long-standing angel platform, her focus is on enabling close collaboration between the Direct Investments team and the angel network across the investment lifecycle, from sourcing and selection to valuation and company support. By bringing additional operational and governance expertise into these interactions, she helps deepen the integration of the angel community into b2venture’s long-term company-building approach. Well connected across the Swiss and German angel ecosystems and an angel investor herself, she brings a managerial, practitioner-led perspective to the partnership.

Friederike lives in Zurich, Switzerland, with her family. In her free time, she enjoys Pilates and strength training as a way to stay healthy. When playing golf, you can find her mostly off the beaten path - which shows her long-term perspective and belief in ultimate success. She is deeply interested in how emerging technologies – particularly AI – are reshaping leadership, decision-making, and governance. Friederike enjoys thoughtful exchanges on those topics just as much as a good laugh.
