Marisa is Investment Manager and part of the b2venture Fund team, after joining as Associate in March 2024.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Informatics from the TU Braunschweig and her Master of Science in the same discipline from the University of Hamburg, developing expertise across topics such as machine learning, cybersecurity, and blockchain. She comes to b2venture after gaining operational experience in building new ventures at the applike group and as project manager at McKinsey, where she worked with McKinsey Leap to grow and scale new companies in several different industries.
“I always had an interest in technology - both of my parents were scientists and academics, and I grew up with fischertechnik toys and started programming early on in school,” she says. Marisa opted for a path that combined her love of computer science with having a real-world impact, focusing on the intersection of business and information technology. “Even when I was in consulting, I gravitated towards venture building and projects that were more focused on the early stages of a company, such as thinking about new market opportunities, building the product, and working with the founders to scale the organization.”
At b2venture Marisa focuses on horizontal AI, AI tooling, and vertical enterprise applications that utilize AI as the key enabler.
“I am very interested in AI-first vertical applications that are built from the ground up with generative AI capabilities, where founders take a truly new approach and also in the potential for creative business models, for example selling results instead of the software itself.”

Marisa believes that verticalized SaaS applications and digital products that can deeply integrate generative AI into new workflows and products can truly add new value beyond AI simply being a new feature in the existing product. In line with the belief that it's important to support founders long-term, she is thrilled to collaborate with the b2venture angel investor community and the wide array of skills and connections that this community can marshal.
“b2venture’s long history and track record of investing early into AI-based startups is truly remarkable, and the expertise that our angel community brings to bear is also something that few venture capital firms can leverage at the scale we can.”
In her free time, Marisa can be found either sailing, hiking or touring museums and galleries in Berlin. “There’s so much you can learn by looking at modern art - the way artists use materials, media, and technology in new ways is often thought-provoking and helps me look at the world in a new way.”
