Dominik Perisa is Partner and Chief Operating Officer at b2venture, working across our early stage funds and Direct Investment activities to ensure the firm creates maximum impact for its founders, investors and other stakeholders.

He was previously Partner at Rivus Capital, where he led early-stage investments with a focus on climate tech, mobility, logistics, and proptech. Before that he spent several years as Senior Manager at Cherry Ventures, after starting his career in private equity at CMP Capital Management Partners.

Born and raised in Ulm, Dominik was the first to study at university in his family. “I spent most of my holidays as a kid working in the same concrete plant that my father worked to earn money. It definitely instilled a strong work ethic and the drive to advance.” His father emigrated to Germany from Croatia, but Dominik claims he’s “more Swabian than not” and developed an interest in politics and economics during his university studies, where he majored in International Economics and Development at the University of Bayreuth.

After several stints across corporates and consultancies, Dominik did his Master of Science in Finance at Esade, focusing on private equity and venture capital. “I wanted to have an impact. Finance was the best way to leverage my skills, and with private equity, you could come in right away and change things.”

Dominik worked for turnaround investor CMP Capital Management Partners focusing on traditional restructuring cases and developed a passion for the technological side of the equation early on. “I quickly became the internal advisor on tech topics at the firm and began working with VCs on a few projects and really felt at home with the faster pace of technology investments.”

After doing several angel investments in startups himself, Dominik moved to Cherry Ventures in 2018, where he was part of building and scaling multiple fund vintages and responsible for a diverse range of topics, including portfolio management, investor relations, venture development, M&A and IPO cases, and debt transactions.

Dominik then became a partner at Rivus Capital, a single-LP venture investor with a focus on Impact, Energy, Mobility, and PropTech, and got to know b2venture through common investments over several years.
